SEXUAL HARRASSMENT POLICY
This Company operates a zero-tolerance policy toward any method of sexual harassment in the workplace. All incidents will be treated seriously, and any allegations will be promptly investigated.
All complaints of sexual harassment will be treated respectfully and in confidence. No one will be victimised for raising a complaint of this nature.
For any person subject to any kind of discrimination, harassment or victimisation, the company will not hesitate to follow the formal action aligned with our disciplinary procedures.
Sexual harassment is unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature which makes another person feel offended, humiliated and/or intimidated. This list is not exhaustive but can include individuals being asked to engage in sexual activity as a condition of their employment, or any situation that creates an environment that can feel hostile, humiliating or intimidating for the recipient. Sexual harassment can be singular or multiple incidents and the perpetrators actions that constitute harassment may be physical, verbal, or non-verbal.
Victimisation is subjecting someone to detriment because they have done, are suspected of doing, or intend to do an act which is protected under discrimination and harassment laws. It is not necessary for the person to have done the protected act in order for detrimental treatment to be considered as victimisation.
In addition, following on from the recent update from the government on 26th October 2024, there is a new duty to take “reasonable steps” to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace, which is a step up from the previous duty, and requires proactive measures to be implemented.
This includes preventing sexual harassment committed by workers and by third parties.
Due to this, we have updated our policies, to be aligned with the recent changes and have implemented proactive measures such as risk assessments, staff online training and posters on display.
